What is mastering? Why do I need it?
Mastering is the process where an expert mastering engineer uses specially designed audio equipment and software to correct problems within each song. Mastering most importantly takes your audio to the next level and produces a final product that is “label ready”. Mastering is the final step of the process in bringing your recording to its optimum potential. It gives your song / music that professional commercial quality necessary to compete on a national and global scale. If your audio is planned for the radio, CD duplication, CDRom/DVD authoring or publishing to the world wide web, it should be mastered to take full advantage of the media in which it is to be released.
